Snow shovel

A few weeks ago we had a big snow storm in Wisconsin. We had just moved here from Vegas so we had no snow shovels. We went looking for snow shovels and Rhett found one. He's all ready to shovel snow, and actually when we got home he had a lot of fun helping daddy clear it off the driveway.

Rhett and Ginger

Rhett and Ginger have an interesting relationship. These pictures are taken over multiple months. It depicts this strange fight for dominance and at the same time this cute loving cuddling together. I think they like each other.

Helking daddy build

The cub scouts invited the Elder's quorum to join them in the upcoming pinewood derby.

John decided to build a new car, so Rhett had to help. He helped John cut the car on the jig saw and sand pieces on the sander.

I thought it was cute that Rhett was helping daddy - or as he says, "Helk daddy!" I especially thought it was cute when he and John were wearing the masks when sanding.

The baby sitter

Ginger is preparing to be our new baby sitter - literally. I think she's got the job. We'll let you know how it turns out.

Lightening McQueen

We went to Toys R Us to find some new bibs, and Rhett found a car he wants. It's his favorite - Lightening McQueen.

Snow

We had a big snow storm about a week ago in Madison. We went out sledding down the biggest sledding hill I've ever seen. Rhett loved going down the sled hill with daddy, and even Ginger got in on some of the sledding action.

After the sledding, we had to make a snowman and do some snow angels. In Vegas, you don't get snow, so you miss it. Maybe that is why we had extra fun during this snow storm.

Cleaning

So back in Vegas (I know this is an old post, but I'm trying to catch up) Santa gotRhett a cleaning set because he is always trying to help me sweep and clean, but the equipment is just to big for him. Santa got him a cleaning set just his size. As we were packing up and cleaning in Vegas Rhett had to join in on the fun - he loves cleaning. Hopefully I can encourage this enough that he'll grow up to clean the house enough so I can sit back and relax ;)

Christmas skates

So back in Vegas (I know this is an old post, but I'm trying to catch up) Rhett got skates. I took him out skating and he loved it, he had to do it by himself.

When living in Utah, John's parents took all his brothers' and sister's kids skating at an indoor skating rink. We rented some skates for Rhett, and he had a blast. John had to hold him up the entire time and they danced and skated around the rink. So Santa knew skates for Rhett would be a big hit, especially because this time he could skate all by himself.

Mommy boo boo

Rhett noticed I had a boo boo on my thumb. When I tried to suck on it he pulled it out of my mouth and said, "no thumb".  I told him I needed a band aid and he went running for the bathroom to get me one. I got one and opened it for him to put it on..... He got it on, but missed the sore!

If I had a hammer

What would Rhett do if he had a hammer - apparently hammer. He's a true boy and just knew what to do with it even though we have never showed him how to use one before.

The other day we went to Home Depot to pick up some wood to fix a broken shelf. While there they were doing one of their free Saturday classes for kids. This one was building a car. It required hammering multiple pieces together. John started the nail in the wood and then Rhett would go to town hammering and hammering and hammering some more. He hammered the entire thing together and handled the hammer very well.

Where did he learn such things? It must be in his blood because his dad loves building things out of wood and loves hammering. Wherever he learned it, he loves hammering!

The playground

Rhett loves the slide, and so far that is the the only thing he has ever played on. The other day Rhett played on some other play ground equipment.
