Family Vacation - Tide Pools

We went to the ocean (Rhett and I missed the day swimming in the ocean). John's family said these weren't the best tide pools they have seen but I thought the were pretty cool. We were intrigued by the starfish on the rock!

Family Vacation - Living Planet Acquarium

Again, these pictures are in reverse order, but there were too many to bother rearranging after I uploaded them. The great thing about this aquarium was that the animals ALWAYS came up to the kids in the glass. It was amazing!
These were all the clown fish behind us. They come in black as well as orange!
Spider crabs!
John was feeding the bird nectar and he ran out... this is what the bird though... he/she hoped on John's head. I was originally taking a picture of John and Rhett with the bird on his shoulder, but this moment was SO much better -- John's face and all! Rhett however is NOT terribly impressed...

Rhett thought feeding the birds was at least entertaining!
Petting sharks (Zebra sharks). This is as big as they get. John even got Rhett to pet them... that I didn't catch on film.
John didn't believe me when I told him Rhett knew how to drink out of his hydropack
We were taking this picture when a girl pushed the water button on the giant squid next to the shark!
Seal swimming past Rhett. They were very playful!
I didn't know jelly fish came in so many different colors! (pink, orange, clear)
Rhett put his hand over the starfish on the glass.
Big ugly fish swimming at Rhett. John actually had to bring Rhett back because he crawled away whining (see picture below).
A fish the size of Rhett -- or BIGGER!

Cute Boy

While Rhett has been with me in Vegas, I have had some picture perfect moments. They don't even need words! But I will give them anyway.
In my room at Gabe and Wendy's house, they have this shelf with plastic drawers that I keep my shoes and Rhett's socks/shoes/etc. I was getting ready for work and letting Rhett crawl around before I had to leave and I found him playing in the drawers.
I took Rhett for a not so warm hike in the mountains, but luckily I put on his fleece coat and a friend had a baby blanket for me to use. On the way home, Rhett got thirsty and shocked me when he grabbed the hose to my camel backpack and sucked on it like he had been doing it all his life. It shocked me that he knew what to do!
Rhett climbed into Wes' vibrating recliner chair.

The video below does not do justice to Rhett's dancing, but I think I FINALLY got a decent filming of how he dances! He is always a happy boy looking to dance, sing and laugh!

Dinner Time Yet?

I was making dinner for Rhett and I one night and I walked away for a moment to the sink and I came back to this view (don't worry, he wasn't alone and he CANNOT reach the top of the stove).

He noticed I was watching him and not finishing dinner.... he didn't seem to be a fan!

Planetarium

John, Rhett and I spent a morning at the Clark Planetarium in Salt Lake City. I think what makes it fun for both John and I are to see Rhett having a good time -- which we have discovered, really doesn't take much!
Rhett on the moon!

Rhett on "Mars" He blends right in.

Exploring on "Mars" -- he's so close to standing, it's getting to the point where I just wish he would and then I wouldn't be breaking my back holding his hands so he could walk everywhere!

Family Moments

These pictures were taken before I left for Vegas. These were some of my favorites!

Petting Zoo at Thanksgiving Point

So blogger always loads pictures in reverse order, so really these pictures are ordered backwards... oh well. Start from the bottom of the post and work your way up :)

Rhett's first pony ride. We let him ride it twice. He really enjoyed it!
We found and inside "growing area". It was just really a kid's play area. It was a lot of fun. See video below of Rhett's favorite activity here!
They had these little play houses. Here Rhett's the guard while I'm in jail....
Rhett feeding the "him size" goat.

We then went out to feed the goats. This one was particularly anxious! We even got Rhett to feed the goat himself... that was until his fingers got nibbled on.. He didn't think it was all that cool after that!
We went to a petting zoo that had in doors and out doors areas -- which was nice seeing it was a bit raining and chilly outside. Rhett's looking at chicks here. They all flocked around him!

Nap Defiance!

One day Rhett was being particularly crabby about taking a nap. But if you just ignore his screams, he goes to sleep. Well, I came in to check on him and this is what I found....
Notice the wet wipes travel case he is using for a pillow... Rhett has a changing table at the foot of his crib. He decided to clear off the top of the table in his fits and put it all in the crib with him. PERSONALLY, I would have used the cushy changing mat for the pillow (not shown in picture but also in the crib), and not the hard case of the Huggies travel case for wipes!
