Mother's Day Cards

Saria and Rhett made both grandmother's Mother Day cards this year.

It's a really fun idea, and she wished she had my hand print too, but she did it while I was out of town on a business trip.

Grandma Butler got her card and emailed the following:

"Dear Rhett: When Grandpa went to the mailbox today he brought me the neatest envelope. When I opened it I found a very creative Grandma's day card from a very sweet, handsome, young man and a cute young lady. Thank you for taking the time to make me a mother's day card. That really made my day. Rhett and Mommy Saria, Love you lots and lots

Happy Mother's Day!

Menards

We seem to go to Menards about once a week, either because John needs something or Saria has a new honey-do for John. Menards is kind of like a Home Depot, but bigger, better, and cheaper. So John and Saria love going. But Rhett really loves going because they have an upstairs where they have all their toys and outside kid playgrounds set up. Each time we go Rhett starts asking, "Upstairs?" He just wants to play, and if he's good while we are shopping, we let him.

Helping daddy cut wood stakes

Saria asked John to make some tomato stakes out of wood. Obviously, Rhett had to help. He pulled the wood off the saw after John cut it, and then helped cut a point into the stakes on the jig saw. John made him wear a mask and goggles when he was around the saw and Rhett never tried to take them off - what a trooper about learning power equipment safety.

Moon Sand

Pinterest is my friend, especially when it comes to planning activities for Rhett while daddy is working!  I tried to distract Rhett with "moon sand" (flour and baby oil) while I worked on sewing down in the basement.  Turns out, he was only as interested when I played with him. So I didn't get much sewing done, but we had fun and ended up fairly powdered when we were done.  Luckily, it sweeps/vacuums right up!  It was super soft, pliable but yet fell apart.  I would 100% prefer this over grainy sand any day of the week!  The recipe calls for 8 cups flour to 1 cup of baby oil.  I cut it in to a fourth to see how I would like it and it was manageable in a cover of a shoe box!

Madison children's Museum

Every first Wednesday of the month, the Madison children's museum has free admission.  Here are some pictures from our fun times!

Easter Morning

So John is good at updating the blog from the pictures on our phones, but if we take pictures with our camera, they don't get updated on the blog as quickly... so back to Easter morning!

Rhett woke up early to discover little bunnies that held eggs and lead to his Easter basket downstairs.  He also engaged in an egg hunt along the way!

Rhett had quite the Easter!  He went to two different Easter Egg hunts so he was visited multiple times by the Easter Bunny as is evident in the booty picture above (keep in mind this is ONLY Rhett's bounty -- not including John and my Easter baskets!).  Now, a month later, we still have jelly beans and other candy goodies that we are all eating.
